AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY MARQUETRY LONGCASE CLOCK. the 12" dial with silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, engraved decoration and cherub spandrels, signed Sam Stevens, Londini Fecit, on a brass two train five pillar movement striking to two bells, the hood with fret carving to the cornice and sides, turned columns with brass capitals, inlaid with trailing flowers, the trunk and base profusely inlaid with birds, flowers and figures, set within scrolling leaf borders, all on an ebonised ground, with pendulum, two weights, winder and case key, height 217cm

Appears to wind and strike and runs at time of cataloguing but functionality not guaranteed.
Split and repair to one barrel, restored splits to trunk door and base, other splits and repairs, veneer lift/losses and fading, warping to door.
