A LATE 19TH/ EARLY 20TH CENTURY CHINESE MUG. slightly tapering circular form, with a simulated bamboo handle and an applied dragon around the lower body, below the inscription "PRESENTED TO SERG INST DAVIES R.M.L.I BY THE OFFICERS AND MEN ROYAL MARINES H.M.S. TAMAR HONG-KONG TO COMMEMORATE HIS RECORD (HIGHEST POSSIBLE SCORE) OF AT THE KOWLOON 105 RIFLE RANGE 31ST MARCH 1903", maker's mark unclear, c.1900; 5.5" (14cm) high; 13.7ozt. *CR General wear, a bit bright & polished, some fire staining, bruising and small dents - particularly the bottom below the dragon
