An 1833 pattern French naval boarding cutlass / sword. Engraved to the reverse edge of the blade: Mfture Imp ale Du Klingenthal. With three inspection marks: K, B & L. Having a slightly curved blade with closed steel cup knuckle guard in its leather scabbard with brass mounts. Blade length 66.5cms (26.25ins)
The blade has three inspection marks, K within a star, B within a laurel wreath and an L within a roundel. There is no anchor mark.
