Books have not been assessed for completeness. General condition notes -

Jackson - A Thousand Days in the Arctic - Both volumes in protective plastic covers. These are not affixed to the books with adhesive and could be very easily removed if desired. General fading to spines. Corners are bumped/curled and head and foot of spine are worn. Various marks to page edges. Endpapers split at hinges. Volume II with water damage to pages. Some light foxing. Folding maps are all present, though most have tears.

Nansen - In Northern Mists - Spines very faded and tatty. Covers generally faded. Bumps to corners and head and foot of spine. Foxing throughout, most significant towards endpapers. Colour frontispieces are present. Receipt from Pandion Books, Ripon, dated 1984 inserted loose.

Bain - Life and Explorations of Fridtjof Nansen - In protective plastic cover, loosely affixed. Wear to corners and at head and foot of spine. Gift inscription in ink to free endpaper, dated 1898. Pages generally nice and crisp. Occasional dog-earing and very light foxing to edges. All plates present.

McClintock - Fate of Franklin - Rather worn at extremities. Spine faded. Possible replacement endpapers. Folding map in pocket at conclusion is present, though marked and torn, with old repairs. Pages with general foxing, marks and wear to edges. Ink ownership inscription to title, dated 1859. Further pencil inscription. Occasional tears/dog-earing to page edges. Facsimile Franklin record badly torn. Plates otherwise with significant foxing, marks and wear at edges.
