An unusual Doulton Burslem porcelain part dessert service decorated with birds, insects and animals, some in comical poses, on a matt ivory ground within shaped gilt rims, printed factory marks with painted pattern no.C1234, circa 1890-1900, comprising six comports [one with detached base] and ten plates [one cracked, two with tiny chips]; together with a similar plate decorated with flowers [17].
