Battle of Britain framed relics of a Martlesham Hurricane shot down by Adolf Galland: Relics recovered from the crash site of Hurricane Mk I V7500, No. 17 Squadron, piloted by BoB ‘ace’ Manfred Beckett Czernin, which took off from Martlesham Heath on 17th November 1940 to intercept a Luftwaffe raid on RAF Wattisham. Czernin was shot down by German ‘ace’ Adolf Galland, becoming the latter’s 54th victory. Czernin baled out and his plane crashed near Bradfield Church, south of Bury St Edmunds. The relics include pieces of airframe, a piece of engine cylinder block, airline connector and radio plug. (Buyer collects)
