AIR CRASH MAIL - U.S.A.: 1941-59 set on leaves, all missing stamps, inc. 1941 badly charred env. carried on internal flight which crashed at Moorhead forwarded in Ambulance cover with note "DAMAGE DUE TO AIR MAIL/INTERRUPTION NEAR/[M]OORHEAD, MINN./OCTOBER 30, 1941" cachet; 1942 three covers on internal flight which crashed into Flushing Bay on landing with purple "DAMAGE DUE TO AIR MAIL/INTERRUPTION NEAR/NEW YORK N.Y./APR. 11 1942" cachets; 1943 damaged env. to GB carried on Pan Am Boeing 324 which crashed & sank while landing at Lisbon with purple boxed "DAMAGED BY SEA-WATER" cachet; and 1959 charred & repaired env. to Los Angeles carried by Transcontinental & Western Air which crashed on take off from Chicago with "DAMAGED BY FIRE IN/THE POSTAL SERVICE" cachet.
