A range of 1890s New York to Scotland covers, all to the same addressee and with printed return address for General John Watts de Peyster (served in Mexican-American War and Major General in American Civil War). Mixed condition, with some attractive registered and mourning covers. Some are on Gen. de Peyster's printed stationery and others have cut-out 'If not delivered...' and 'Please acknowledge receipt to...' labels applied to ordinary covers. Many endorsed 'printed matter' on front, one with 'insufficiently paid' boxed h/s, some redirected mail. Well worth viewing. (Qty 53) (See photos) (T)
