An early 20th century 1920s American Belber wardrobe steamer trunk, once owned by Russian ballet dancer Kira Strakhova. The iron bound travelling trunk of upright form with domed top and locks to the side. The case opening to reveal a fully fitted interior with drawers to the left and hanging space to the right. To the exterior of the case multiple original shipping labels still present. Makers label to the top for Belber Traveling Goods. Written on the side Kira Strakhova. Measures approx. 103cm x 46cm x 54cm.
Kira Strakhova was once a world renowned Russian ballet dancer who travelled the world performing. Strakhova had been a soloist with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and went on to be a celebrated ballet teacher, before establishing her own ballet school years later.
