Medals (3) of 1473 Private James William Mulley of the Essex Regiment. 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal 1914-1920, and Allied Victory Medal 1914-1918. Native of Springfield, Essex. Enlisted on 22nd March 1912 into 5th Battalion, EssexRegiment, Territorial Force. Embodied on 5th August 1914. Landed in Gallipoli on 9 thAugust 1915. Returned to the United Kingdom on 9th January 1916 with enteric fever. Posted on 14th April 1916 to 3rd/5th Battalion, Essex Regiment and soon after to 2nd Battalion, and then to 10th Battalion, Essex Regiment. Posted on 5th July 1918 to 11th Battalion, Essex Regiment. On 24 th July 1918 diagnosed at a Casualty Clearing Station with neurasthenia. He was medically evacuated with a gunshot wound to his left arm and shrapnel in his hand on 10th August 1918. Discharged on 4th October 1918.
