A LATE 18TH CENTURY GERMAN SILVER ÉCUELLE AND COVER

by Christianus Drentwett II, Augsburg 1775-1777, of inverted baluster form upon a spreading circular foot, with cast and applied rocaille scroll handles, the pull-off double domed lid surmounted by a detachable cast finial of a pomegranate, gilt interior. 22.5cm across handles, 12.7 troy ounces



Struck with clear marks on both the cover and the base. The lid fits well. No personalised engraving. In generally very good coverall condition.
