A worksplate, MONTREAL LOCOMOTIVE WORKS LIMITED-BUILDERS MONTREAL CANADA, 77610 YG 1950, from an Indian State Railways metre gauge Class YG 2-8-2 designed for goods and mixed traffic work, the last main line steam class operational on Indian Railways which ended in February 2000. The last steam engines built at ALCO's Montreal plant and numbered randomly on delivery with others built by various North American builders. The running number relating to this plate is unknown. Cast brass, 6"x4", the front lightly cleaned, a knock to the plate lower left. (Postage Band: B)
