A FIRST WORLD WAR WAR MEDAL TO THE NORTHAMPTONSHIRE REGIMENT. A War Medal named to 34088 Pte M. Jarvis North'n R. Private Major Jarvis is recorded with the Northamptonshire Regiment and as 84238 in the 141st Labour Corps. In July 1919, at the age of 30 and after two years service Major Jarvis is recorded at the War Hospital, Nitshill, Glasgow from where he was discharged. The ailment being rather unkindly described as 'Feeble Mindedness'. Having enlisted on the 11th December 1915 he was discharged on the 3rd July 1919 and awarded silver war badge 243811. A hand written note attached to the medal states 'Major Jarvis was eleven years in a padded room suffering from shell shock'. *CR On Victory Medal ribbon. A lot fee of £8 inc.
