An early George II silver rounded rectangular table box, hinged cover enclosing twin compartments, 13.5cm wide, apparently unmarked, c.1730, 462g

Heraldry: Bearing the shield of Pitt of Boconnoc, Cornwall, granted 1601, and as borne by Prime Minister William Pitt the Elder, prior to being raised to the peerage in 1761, when a coronet would have been added.

Generally good, an old repair near left hinge, lid closes nicely, engraving crisp and period
