A smokebox numberplate, 5044, from a GWR 4073 Castle Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in March 1936 and named Beverston Castle when built but renamed Earl of Dunraven in September 1937 after the Earl who was a Director of the GWR from 1925 to 1935, a name it carried for the remainder of its working life. It was allocated new to Old Oak Common, withdrawn from Cardiff Canton on 3 April 1962 and cut up at Swindon Works the following June. Repainted. (Postage Band: D)
