A THEODORE DECK MAJOLICA MOON FLASK, late 19th century, with garlic neck and two scroll handles with fleur-de-lys terminals, painted in the cloisonne style with ochre roundels enclosing an exotic bird in flight with butterflies and flowering branches in shades of brown with gold lustre highlights, within turquoise borders and flower painted shoulders, impressed T.H. Deck, 12" high (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)
Sadly drilled to butterfly roundel near base to convert into lamp. One handle repaired with minor loss near terminal and crack higher up on scroll. I have scraped around the plaster (?) fixing in the metal light fitting and can see some blue decoration higher up the neck, but am unable to see if there is any damage to the rim. I have been unable to remove the fitting but suspect it may soak off.
