Two postcards and three letters written in German and sent by J.M. Lench (No. 80521) to the Sutton Park 'Aliens Internment Camp' in Royal Sutton Coldfield, in the West Midlands. One of the letters is dated 8th August 1940, during WW2.
The camp housed Germans who were treated as Enemy Aliens. Established in August 1940, this camp was located near Longmoor Pool by the Banners Gate entrance. It housed 700 men in tents, who were transferred from camps at Kempton Park and Lingfield.
