A late Victorian 'Directors' Bracket Clock retailed by Maple & Co Ltd, London with silvered chapter ring having Arabic numerals, below subsidiary Chime to Silent, Slow to Fast and Westminster or Whittington Chimes dials all on signed, gilt, scrolling acanthus, foliate ground, with eight day, triple chain, fusee movement, striking the Whittington quarter chimes a carillon of eight bells and the Westmingster quarter chimes on four gongs, the hour being struck on a fifth gong, the mahogany case with pierced pediment to rococo scroll, with tracery below, and columns above falling acanthus leaves with chinoiserie border to the base, the sides and back with pierced insets to green silk, the whole raised on scrolling ogee feet, 40 by 28 by 68.5cm high including pediment.
