George Nelson - A model 5569 Coconut Chair, designed in 1955, probably manufactured by Herman Miller, with riveted aluminium outer shell and splayed steel base, unlabelled, later reupholstered in yellow hopsack style cloth fabric.

NB - This chair is offered for sale as a work of art. It may not comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) Safety Regulations 1988 and for this reason should not be used in a private dwelling.

More Information

The chair appears to have been reupholstered. Likely to be an earlier model as the shell is riveted aluminium as opposed to the later fibreglass shells.
