A cased mid 19th century double barrelled 38 bore percussion boxlock side hammer pistol, 9” overall, octagonal barrels 4”, with Birmingham proofs, scroll engraving at breeches, engraved on the top rib “Barratt & Son, Burton on Trent”, and with swivel ramrod; with scroll engraved frame, hammers and trigger guard, finely chequered rounded walnut butt, and rectangular escutcheon. Good Working Order and Generally Crisp Condition, retaining some original colour hardened finish; in its purple velvet lined fitted mahogany case; containing flattened hexagonal section copper flask by Sykes, retaining most original finish, 48 bore steel pincer mould, nipple key, cap tin with paper label for Starkey’s No 48 percussion caps, and pewter oil bottle, (minor damage to case, oil bottle worn).
