FINE BINDING. Rollin, M. The Ancient History of the Egyptians, Carthaginians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Medes and Persians, Grecians and Macedonians. Translated from the French. With engraved half-titles and maps. Three volumes. London: Printed by J. McGowan, n.d.(c.1830). Bound in contemporary full tree calf with a gilt greek key roll on the covers enclosing in the centre an early badge of Maynooth College in gilt. Flat spine divided into six panels, title and volume number on blue morocco letterpiece in the second and fourth, the remainder elaborately tooled in gilt. Splash marbled endpapers green endbands. Repair to margin of two leaves, one folding map rebacked. Fine binding.
