A British Home Service 1878 pattern cloth helmet with a hexagonal tapering spike to the top on a four pointed base with rose head mounts, the helmet plate with Queen's crown above an eight pointed star with prince of Wales' feathers to the centre against a green ground, and above a banner 'Royal Regiment of Wales'. With foliate chin strap mounts and brass chin strap. 27cm high, 30cm front to back *Condition: Surface in good condition, mark below the helmet plate, interior lacking, chin strap distressed.
