Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment GvR Officer helmet circa 1911-14. A good short lived example of the Home Service pattern blue cloth helmet complete with gilt metal cruciform base, spike, spine and rose bosses. To the front, a gilt crowned star bearing Lion of England on crimson velvet centre; silver THE KINGS OWN scroll below the crown, another ROYAL LANCASTER REGT on the base of the laurels. The interior retaining buff leather sweatband. Gilt dull. Service wear. Evidence of previous helmet plate. Minor restoration. GC Chin cain absent
