A medieval iconographic ring, England, 14th/15th century the front engraved with a cowled bust of a saint, possibly the Virgin Mary, the ridged shoulders engraved with foliate motifs, to a 'fede' motif of clasped hands to the reverse, size O, accompanied by catalogue card inscribed 'Suffolk?' and 'Whincopp 1877' to the reverse

Provenance: formerly in the collection of Dame Joan Evans (1893-1977)
