An Italian M1871 cavalry trooper’s sword, slightly curved, pipe backed blade 35½”, small crowned FB in oval stamp at forte, sheet steel guard with reinforce to lower part of inner edge, and single “tear drop” opening, small “13” to top, cap shaped pommel with prominent stud, plain backstrap into thumb notch, plain darkwood grip stamped “13” on each side, in its steel scabbard (minor dents) with single ring. GC (some service wear).
