LOCAL INTEREST . A First World War medal pair of 1914-18 Medal and Victory Medal to 53555 Pte. John Henry Powell, Yorks & Lancs Regiment, together with a Broseley Chrysanthemum Show 1950 bronze medal, likewise awarded to Powell. (3) Sold together with a small amount of photocopied research. Footnote:John Powell was born in 1887 at Broseley, the son of John and Selina Powell. He is listed as a Brickyard Labourer, age 14, in the 1901 Census and a Chimney Sweep in the 1911 Census (an occupation he continued in post-war). He died at Bridgnorth in 1955, aged 67.
