HMS London Yangtze Incident recipient's WW2 BWM, 1909-62 NGSM Yangtze 1949 clasp, 1951 Korea Medal and UN Korea Medal to CH/X.4209 G.P. Barnard Mne R.M. very fine and better, with matching ribbon bar.
Gordon Philip Barnard was serving on H.M.S. London when he was wounded by the Chinese artillery fire on the ship. With original Report of Wound or Hurt which states on 21st April 1949 he suffered "an oblique incomplete fracture of the 2nd metacarpal of the right hand."
Sold with original Parchment Certificate of Service, Certificate of Discharge, 12 photos of battle damage to ship, 14 other military photos including him, ship's crew, ship, Yangtze casualty board etc, HMS London 1947-49 booklet, HMS London silver sweetheart badge, HMS London Xmas card, newspaper cuttings etc.
He was born in Evesham 25/8/27, enlisted 30/1/45, served on London 27/8/47 to 30/9/49, later served at Deal Depot, the light carrier Unicorn during the Korean war, Eastney Gunnery School and Superb, discharged to R.M.E.R. 25/8/57, these 4 confirmed on papers as full entitlement.
