WW2 2nd pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Commando fighting knife. A good and scarce example. The hilt with nickel grip of chequered design. Double edged plain spear point blade and fitted with an oval cross guard. Housed in a brown leather scabbard with nickel rounded chape the elasticated retaining strap is absent, and the original owner has added a webbing panel to the upper section of the scabbard. Complete with four tangs. The overall condition is good clean bright, with minor age wear, no issue or maker's stamp. Blade length 17 cm The vendor has stated that the dagger was carried by Captain R D George of the South Wales Boarders who attached to the Parachute Regiment and Special Allied Airborne Reconnaissance Force. This is not confirmed by Bosleys.
