A George V silver stamp holder, Birmingham 1911 (maker's marks worn), of rectangular form with pendant bail, scrolling foliate decoration to cover, shield cartouche to one corner with engraved initials 'JAP', garnet coloured cabochon set to release, two compartment gilt interior, 5.3cm x 3.8cmm, weight 18.3gms

More Information

Overall condition is good. No denting, splitting, major damage or signs of repair. Cover opens and closes securely, but the base does slightly wobble when being pulled out, almost as though the case is a little too big. The engravings to the cover are crisp and clear. There are possible signs of solder repair to the loop. There is moderate scratching and wear to the gilt interior, particularly on the inside of the lid. Maker's mark is almost completely worn, but other hallmarks are clear.
