British Naval History Interest: A printed and part-inscribed official letter of exemption for 'Alexander Tait Joiner of Edingburgh' from being 'pressed' into naval service, issued by the Commissioners for Executing the Office of Lord High Admiral of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and hand dated 'tenth January' One thousand eight hundred and seven, with further related hand-written notes, on hand-laid paper with an Imperial Crown 'IM' watermark and '1800' with embossed Admiralty 'anchor' to paper. 29.5x37.5cm, folded with some staining and piece cut out (probably wax seal).
