A man and a red headed woman with a bundle of sticks and a dog herding cattle in a mountainous landscape with a woman outside the two thatched cottages feeding chickens from her apron (believed to be Glengariff). Oil on Canvas signed and dated. 1859 lower right. 44 x 82 cm
Note: from 1853 to 1861 Shalders exhibited twenty works depicting Irish views at the Royal Society of British Arts, these were mainly in the areas of Glengariff, Connemara Killarney, Bantry and Kenmare he also exhibited five Irish views at the Royal Academy during this time.
