Property of a deceased estate - Louis Marc Emmanuel Solon (1835-1913) - a pate sur pate oval plaque depicting a classical goddess and cherubs, the porcelain approximately 8.7 by 12.25ins. (22 by 31cms.), signed 'MILES' and dated '68, in ebonised frame. Footnote - Solon worked for Sevres and perfected with pate sur pate technique circa 1867 when he exhibited at the Paris Exhibition. He left France to work at Minton in 1870.
