Some 31 standard size postcards which mainly have a fencing – or sword fighting – theme, with duelling and men being treated for facial wounds etc, including real photographic views of men showing off their scars. Some are postally used – and are pre-World War One in date. An unusual, if specialized, field for collecting. The most recent published catalogue on postcard prices puts fencing cards at £6 each. Most of the cards are in good condition, but some have minor faults such as rounded corners etc. All the cards feature in our first two photos.
