A WWII Second World War US United States M1 McCord made steel combat helmet shell. Marked to the inside 1266D indicating it was made November - December 1944 therefore one of the first batches of rear seam helmets made from manganese steel which did not shine like the earlier stainless steel rims once paint wore off.
