Flintlock Boxlock Pocket Pistol signed ‘KNUBLEY’, late 18th Century, 56-bore 1 5/8 in. turn-off barrel, London proof-marks, border engraved action decorated with stage curtains showing ‘KNUBLEY’ to one side and ‘LONDON’ over, sliding safety, drop-down folding trigger, slab sided wooden butt, 6 in. length. KNUBLEY- John: Gunmaker, Otley, 1771. Sword cutler and gun maker, Charring Cross, London 1786-94. Gunmaker to the Prince of Wales, Duke of Clarence and Prince Edward. Contractor to the Ordnance 1790-94. Died 1795.
