1896 Aveling & Porter R6 No. 3781 road roller AX 5645. The engine has a new boiler, firebox, smokebox and headstock. The narrow, single-cylinder roller features an inside flywheel. The single-speed roller was purchased new by Lord Llangattock of Monmouth where it worked on his estate. Lord Llangattock was the father of Charles Rolls (Rolls-Royce) who died on 12 July 1910 the UKs first fatal aeroplane accident. Llangattock was to lose all three of his sons by the end of WW1 his only daughter lived to the 1960s The roller is in full running order formerly known as Tiny Tim now known as Dolly.
