Star Lot: Gerry Marjoram (b.1936) A graceful original Gerry Marjoram (b.1936) oil on board painting titled 'Twelve Pins, Connemara'. Features the titular tranquil landscape scene. Rendered in loose expressive brushstrokes portraying a sense of movement and texture. Signed bottom right. Housed in a gilt frame. With Combridge Fine Arts Sticker to verso. Along with an Artist's statement. Gerry Marjoram is a well renowned artist with works fetching into the high hundreds at Whyte's.

Born in the Liberties area of Dublin, Gerry Marjoram was educated at Francis Street School and subsequently studied art at the National College of Art under Maurice MacGonigal (q.v.) and Sean Keating. Since 1970 he has exhibited frequently in Dublin and Galway, particularly with Combridges Fine Art, Dublin, the Waldock Gallery, Blackrock, and the Lavelle Gallery, which he opened in 1988 in conjunction with Eoin Lavelle, Alan Kenny (q.v.), and Tony McNally (q.v.). His work is in private and public collections worldwide, including the Irish Embassy in Prague. He presently makes numerous painting trips to Connemara and the west coast of Ireland.
