A mid-19th century inlaid honey oak and mahogany eight day longcase clock with moonphase by D. Robins of Birmingham, of substantial proportions - the signed, painted arched Roman dial with subsidiary seconds dial and arched date aperture, painted figural spandrels emblematic of the four continents and a painted moonphase to the arch, fronting a bell strike movement with four knopped pillars, the case with swan neck cornice over an inlaid and cross banded frieze, on turned baluster and barleytwist columns, the broad trunk with conforming pilasters flanking a triple lancet arched door inlaid with ebony and mahogany cross banding, on a conforming inlaid base with ogee bracket feet, 238cm high, lacks pendulum and weights.
