AN EGYPT MEDAL 1882-89 WITH ALEXANDRIA 11TH JULY CLASP TO H.M.S. PENELOPE. An Egypt medal with dated reverse and Alexandria 11th July clasp, named to G. Johnson Sign 2 Cl H.M.S Penelope. He will also have been entitled to a Khedives Star. Born in Forlesworth, Leicestershire on the 8th February 1856 he joined the Royal Navy on the 8th February 1874 as a Boy 1st Class. Spending 42 days in Military Prison on Malta whilst serving on H.M.S Tyne and a further 21 days in 1882 and again in 1883. He was discharged from H.M.S. Iris as undesirable on the 27th December 1883. Mounted for display with copied research and postcards of some of his ships..
