AN EGYPT MEDAL 1882-89 WITH ALEXANDRIA 11TH JULY CLASP TO H.M.S. PENELOPE. An Egypt medal with dated reverse and Alexandria 11th July clasp, named to G. Johnson Sign 2 Cl H.M.S Penelope. He will also have been entitled to a Khedives Star. Born in Forlesworth, Leicestershire on the 8th February 1856 he joined the Royal Navy on the 8th February 1874 as a Boy 1st Class. Spending 42 days in Military Prison on Malta whilst serving on H.M.S Tyne and a further 21 days in 1882 and again in 1883. He was discharged from H.M.S. Iris as undesirable on the 27th December 1883.
