A late George III black leather travelling trunk, with brass bound and studded decoration, brass shield shaped escutcheon, the lift lid painted with white lettering 'Sir Ed. Owen', the camphor wood interior with floral patterned paper lining, bearing paper label inscribed 'Ashoe, No. 5' and second paper label for a previous owner dated 1869, 106 by 53 by 51cm high, with key. Provenance: The Estate of Mr Joseph B. Hay, son of Major-General Arthur K. Hay DSO OBE - 100 years of a military family.
