A 10 bore India pattern Brown Bess flintlock musket, the barrel with Tower private proofs and ordnance inspector's mark, rounded lock with swan neck cock, double line engraved borders, and nicely marked with crown over "GR", "TOWER", and ordnance mark, dark walnut fullstock with regulation pattern brass mounts, the butt plate tang engraved "V/G/5", with stout sling swivels, black leather sling, and correct steel ramrod, with its triangular socket bayonet, the blade marked "J. ROE". GWO & C, with pleasing dark age patina overall, (small split in the stock below the lock, some pitting to the bayonet). £2200-2500
