Undated, circa 1932 - Morris Singer Company Architectural Metalwork Catalogue - containing a dedication bookplate from the company to Ernst Freud, Esq., as well as a letter from sales director R. Hudson thanking Freud for an interview. Richly illustrated with black & white photographs of the company's work. Measures approx. 37.5cm x 25cm.
The son of psychologist Sigmund Freud and the father of artist Lucian Freud and ironmonger Stephen Gabriel Freud, Ernst Freud was a reputable Austrian architect who settled in London following the rise of the Nazis in 1933. Morris Singer was founded in Frome in 1848 and is considered the oldest fine foundry of its kind in the world.
A scarce catalogue of 1930s British Art Deco architectural feats, with an interesting association to the Freud family.
