An ornately engraved ambrotype Victorian gilt locket, with floral and foliate engraving to both sides, hinges on both sides so opens at opposite ends, engraved inside one of the backplates with ''Presented to Sarah Jane Prudence, by her affectionate aunt, on her 14th birthday, January 26th 1862'', an ambrotype photograph of Sarah Jane Prudence's aunt with 'gold' detailing added, the other keepsake section is empty, unmarked, measuring approx. 4.4cm x 3.8cm (not inc. bale), 28.0grams.
