A set of four Persian Qajar moulded pottery faience glazed tiles - 19th century, each depicting a young nobleman on horseback, reaching up with an offering to the simurgh flying above, flowers at the horse's feet and small buildings distant, on a blue ground, below an upper border with central flower and interlaced arabesques, 33.5 x 25.5 cm, each mounted in a modern wooden frame, some damages and repairs.

* Condition: All the tiles have some glaze crazing. One tile has a filled section to losses to the upper left corner. Another has a break across the centre of the tile which has been glued - there are some small glaze flakes missing from along the break. The eyes of the figures and horses on this tile have been removed later. The third tile has a small glued repair to a crack to the upper left corner and a chip to the upper right corner which has been polished. The fourth tile has some glaze chips to the upper corners and some brown stained discolouration to the glaze crazing.
