(usual faults) from Calcutta to England "Via Marseilles" having had 4 stamps washed off with a red boxed "INDIA/PAID" & 11 May "LONDON/PAID" cds on the front; also having a partly fine strike of the rare "Saved from the w[reck]/of the Ava." (struck in London) on the flap. A good example of mail from this famous wreck on Pidgeon Island. Plus an 1857 E from Calcutta to Glasgow endorsed "P.Str. Ava via Marseilles".
