A c.1900 /1910 pink mother of pearl fan, the monture attractively pierced, the gorge to match the upper guard, the machine lace leaf with differing designs, surrounding a painted silk cartouche showing a charming image of a pretty maiden reclining on a cloud, Cupid approaching with his torch aflame, the maiden showing the arrival of two white doves, the loop fitted with an elaborate silk and gold thread tassel, contained in a sturdy fan box covered in cream silk, guard approx. 29cm; together with a another pink mother of pearl fan, the cream silk leaf painted in pastels with a winged cherub reaching up to a maiden in classical robe, the verso plain, guard approx. 25.5cm (2)
The upper guard has broken at the shoulder, the lower guard has two existing repairs. The second fan has two damaged gorge sticks.
