Amended description - An 18th Century and later inlaid oak longcase clock with a 'married' eight-day movement, with 11 inch square brass brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial (hand missing) and a silvered chapter ring signed Henry Harper, London, enclosed by a pillared hood over a star inlaid crossbanded drawer on canted plinth base, height 193cm.

More Information

Amended condition report - The movement has been 'married' to the case. The silvered chapter ring may have also been later married to the 11 inch brass dial itself. There are some old woodworm flight holes to the hood door which have been partially filled at some point. The capitals to the pilaster supports on the hood have been later painted. There is some splitting to the plinth base which has been re-constructed at some point. Cleaned but not recently. There are a pair of weights, pendulum and winder present.
