£700
An impressively large Charles II pewter multiple reeded and hammered all-over charger, circa 1680
Having indistinct hallmarks to rim, opposed by ownership triad R over R E, and worn hallmarks to rear of rim, diameter 60.5cm
The first three hallmarks, in order, appear to be a lion passant, a crowned lion face and a fly. The touchmarks also have traces of palm leaves. Therefore, William Fly (fl.1676-1694), (PS53) may be a possible maker, although the last hallmark may not read W F
