An impressively large Charles II pewter multiple reeded and hammered all-over charger, circa 1680

Having indistinct hallmarks to rim, opposed by ownership triad ‘R’ over ‘R E’, and worn hallmarks to rear of rim, diameter 60.5cm

The first three hallmarks, in order, appear to be a lion passant, a crowned lion face and a fly. The touchmarks also have traces of palm leaves. Therefore, William Fly (fl.1676-1694), (PS53) may be a possible maker, although the last hallmark may not read ‘W F’
