Soldiers Letter. 1839 (Apr 26) Entire letter from Kurnaul to Ireland, headed from a soldier and countersigned, unusually endorsed "Ship Letter", with boxed "INDIA LETTER / LIVERPOOL" (In.2) and circular unframed "INDIA SOLDIERS / 3 / LIVERPOOL" (In.6), backstamped at Kurnaul, Calcutta G.P.O Ship Letter and in Ireland. Folds strengthened internally and overall staining, still an unusually fine strike of this very scarce soldiers rate handstamp.
